Green to San Antonio

The only reason the Warriors need to consider Draymond Green is because of how awful he’s been offensively. Green has one of his worst seasons from the field in years, shooting under 42% from the field and averaging fewer than eight points per game.

Aldridge, on the other hand, doesn’t handicap the team offensively. While he may be a bit older, the addition of Aldridge would bring another level to the team offensively. At the same time, Aldridge is used to playing the four, meaning he could slot in well next to DeMarcus Cousins.

Given his play this season, the Spurs wouldn’t likely take a direct swap. What also makes this trade unlikely is the fact that San Antonio is wise with their trading. They certainly won’t be helping a contender become even more lethal in any deal.

If they’re looking towards the future, Draymond Green is a better option for San Antonio. Along those lines, Green is a quintessential forward for Gregg Popovich. He plays hard and on both sides of the ball.

While most likely never to be considered, this proposition is a better trade than many might think.
