Green to Miami- Part 1

The Miami Heat aren’t necessarily in the trade market, but they are a team always talked about when a big-name player becomes available. They were heavily involved in trying to acquire Jimmy Butler before he went to Philadelphia.

The key piece was Josh Richardson. The Heat didn’t want to give up Richardson. For Green, the Warriors must request a Richardson and offer up a first-round pick as additional compensation. Richardson may be a deal-breaker though.

The combination of Richardson and Johnson would give the Warriors scoring off the bench and continue to keep their defense stout. Johnson, an above average defender, can also keep the floor spaced with his shooting, something Green has struggled to do this season.

However, for Miami, the addition of Green could make them a true contender in the East. They’d have a formidable defense and, as aforementioned, gain a player able to ignite the team’s offense. Green would make a good fit in Miami, but is he worth Richardson?
