Fans of the Golden State Warriors can rejoice as it appears that Draymond Green is finally returning to form.

After what felt like a two-year slump from Draymond Green, he finally showed shines of his former self. The Golden State Warriors bested the New Orleans Pelicans 147-140 on Wednesday night and Green was one of the main reasons behind the victory.

In Wednesday’s game, Green put up 17 points, 14 assists and 6 rebounds. He shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and was 66.7 percent from the field overall. Green became only the 18th player in NBA history to finish a game with a box score such as this.

This performance was the embodiment of what Draymond had become known for. He is a player that can do everything on the court for his team and his impact is beyond valuable. When Green is knocking down jump shots, the floor opens up for the rest of the Warriors. There is no coincidence that the Warriors and Pelicans combined for an NBA record 43 made 3-pointers.

This also marked the first time all season that Green made more than two 3-pointers in the same game. So far this year, Green has had 18 games in which he did not make a single shot from beyond the arc and only five games with more than one. It’s safe to say this was Dray’s best game of the year.

Now, the Warriors are in the midst of a six-game winning streak and have scored 140+ points in three of their last four games. With DeMarcus Cousins set to return on Friday, the Warriors are ready to take the league by storm. As Green himself said post-game, “All hell is about to break loose”.

The Warriors are hitting their stride and are about to reach full strength. With the playoffs only a few months away, the rest of the league should be very worried about this recent stretch from the Dubs.
