The Golden State Warriors are the easiest team for former superstar Carmelo Anthony to join.

Once he clears waivers, it’s anyone’s guess where Carmelo Anthony is headed. While the Golden State Warriors might be the easiest addition, it’s like he takes his talents to Los Angeles, although that match might not work out.

For Golden State, adding Melo could be extremely simple for both parties. That’s mainly because of the open roster spot the Warriors already have. They have 14 players and have maintained that totaled since the exodus of Patrick McCaw.

All that means is that the Warriors wouldn’t have to trade or release any of their players to bring on Melo. Creating that roster spot seems like a big deal since the Lakers will only sign Melo if they have one free up, not actively searching to free one up.

It’s not just that open roster spot that makes Melo’s addition extremely easy. It’s also where his role on the team would be. Melo could slide in and play behind Kevin Durant at the small forward position.

The Warriors could use his production in the near future, especially as they hopefully try to decrease the minutes per game of their five stars. Eventually, they’ll need their second unit to consistently hold leads. They don’t do that, one reason Kerr must stagger his superstars minutes.

That said, let’s take a look at each of these two reasons a bit deeper.
