The Golden State Warriors are the easiest team for Carmelo Anthony to join

The Warriors need more bench production

Carmelo Anthony is far from an elite scorer anymore. He used to be considered among the league’s best scoring options, even gaining a scoring title in his prime. However, he’s quickly declined his time away from the Big Apple.

The ten-time All-Star has been dominant throughout his career, and even over the last two seasons, he’s scored the ball well. Averaging over 13 points per game over the last two seasons, Melo would help bring scoring to the Warriors second unit.

The Warriors second unit currently ranks in the bottom-five in threes per game and points per game. Melo certainly wouldn’t make them a top-five bench in the league, but he could help them maintain leads. Melo’s problem in the back half of his career has been efficiency.

For the Warriors, they possess the league’s most dynamic offense,  so snagging a player that’s perennially shot under 42% might not be ideal. Then again, the Warriors bench is void of playmaking, so they might as well take a chance on the veteran.

Many consider Melo a cancer for a team. With such a strong locker room presence, it’s unlikely that’d happen to Melo in the Bay.

The Warriors don’t need bench depth, but it would help them keep their starters fresh. With an open roster spot and a desire to improve their bench, the Dubs might as well take a chance on Melo.
