LA Clippers

The Clippers will have to pay Tobias Harris big money if they want to keep him around. Having a career year, Harris will likely request a max contract from LA, testing how much they value his production.

More from Blue Man Hoop

For LA, they made the mistake of overpaying a star once. Dealing Blake Griffin to Detroit, they found a way out of that dilemma, and now they may make the same mistake. Do they think Harris could lead them into the future if he’s paired with another superstar?

Harris has been a dominant player this year. Compared to Green, Harris, on paper, is twice the player offensively. While the Warriors would lose some on the defensive end, they’d gain a capable outside shooter that could take their already league-best offense to the next level.

The Clippers would add a player that’s still under contract, helping them keep cap space for both this offseason and next since they wouldn’t have to max Harris. They’d deal a pick, but it’s likely the pick will be in the bottom-20. If this deal were real, they’d likely protect the pick as well.

If the Clippers aren’t ready to max Tobias and want to keep a max spot open for Kawhi Leonard this summer, this is a deal they could entertain.
