Miami Heat

The Miami Heat don’t have many young, elite pieces, but they do have Josh Richardson, who they failed to include in any Jimmy Butler talks. However, those talks would’ve likely asked for far more than just Josh Richardson.

For Green, Richardson and Ellington should be enough.

For Pat Riley and the Heat, they’re always in playoff mode, and they need help this season. Green is that help, and he’d be enough to take them to the next level. If the Heat combine Green with James Johnson and Hassan Whiteside, they’d have an elite defensive frontcourt.

The Warriors do this trade because of the potential surrounding Josh Richardson and the three-point shooting of Wayne Ellington. Ellington would help the Warriors’ bench, giving them a lethal backup shooting guard.

Richardson would also command minutes, and he could prove to be a vital contributor once the playoff season rolls around. Both these players could be useful, and they’d be well worth Draymond Green.

Not to mention the Warriors would free up quite a bit of cap space with this trade.
