Atlanta Hawks

The first of our 29 trades have the Warriors bringing in Kevin Huerter, a shooting guard from the Atlanta Hawks. Along with Kent Bazemore, this trade would replenish some of Green’s contributions while also bringing in a reliable backup for Klay Thompson.

Huerter could be more than a backup though. He’s shown flashes of All-Star potential in his rookie season. Averaging almost ten points per game and shooting a high clip from downtown, Huerter could help usher in the next era of Warrior basketball.

However, the Hawks don’t have a huge need for Green. Teams like Golden State, Cleveland, and Phoenix will struggle to find a true desire to trade for Green. He’d cost them more than they’re willing to pay, and he’s not going to be content on a team currently rebuilding.

If the Hawks do this deal, it’s to buy into their team for next season.

They’d have an experienced Trae Young and John Collins to couple with Green on a team that could potentially make the postseason. Could they continue to sign Green after that season though is the question behind this trade.
