NBA Trade Deadline: 29 hypothetical trades for the Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green
Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers are one more piece away from contending. Draymond Green could be that piece. Imagine lining the floor with Green, Jimmy Butler, Joel Embiid, JJ Redick and Ben Simmons. Elite passing, top-notch defense and dominant shooting are all laced into that lineup.
A future first, Muscala, who hasn’t lived up to the hype in Philadelphia, and Chandler, who could slide in to replace Green’s produce, seem like a fair return for the four-time All-Star. It’s a solid transaction for both teams.
For the Warriors, while Philly is currently a top-four team in the East, even in the East, it’s unlikely they can conquer Golden State. They’d have to go through potentially two of Boston, Indiana, Milwaukee and Toronto just to get to Golden State.
Green makes them a team flush with stars, but he doesn’t them on the level of the Warriors without Green. How the team would mesh with so much emotion and passion would also be an interesting storyline if the trade went through.
