NBA Trade Deadline: 29 hypothetical trades for the Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green
Dallas Mavericks
This seems like a long shot of a trade, but it actually is one of the more intriguing options. The Warriors would bring in second-year stud Dennis Smith Jr. and sharpshooter Wesley Matthews.
Smith Jr. seems out of place in Dallas after the eruption of Luka Doncic. He’s shooting significantly better than he was last season. Smith Jr. has developed into a player that could legitimately lead a team one day, and eventually that teams could be Golden State.
Matthews is for the Warriors’ current team, not their future team. The three-point specialist was once widely considered one of the league’s best shooters in Portland. He could return to that form with the elite Golden State offense.
For Dallas, they’d certainly do this deal. They want to win now. Doncic, Jordan, Barnes and others along with Green would be a playoff-contending team in the Western Conference. This may be a deal both sides agree to.
