Should the Golden State Warriors trade for Anthony Davis?

The Golden State Warriors are rolling right now and don’t need to make a drastic trade, but a deal could be a way to extend the dynasty. That’s where a potential trade for Anthony Davis gets enticing.

Anthony Davis‘ time with the New Orleans Pelicans could be coming to an end sooner than expected. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Davis has no intention of committing long-term to the Pelicans and wants a trade out of New Orleans.

Unsurprisingly, this news could change the landscape of the NBA for not only the rest of this season but years to come. The Boston Celtics have long been rumored as a potential suitor for Davis since they have the assets to offer the Pelicans.

The Los Angeles Lakers could also get in on the Davis sweepstakes to add another superstar to play alongside LeBron James. Los Angeles does not have quite the assets that other teams could offer, but if the Pelicans wanted some young pieces that could contribute immediately, the Lakers could be an option.

The Warriors are in a good spot with DeMarcus Cousins‘ surprising play contributing to winning streak. The team looks dominant again and, if they keep it up, poised to claim another NBA Championship. With that said, the team is still dealing with some uncertainty going forward.

Kevin Durant‘s upcoming free agency is looming, Draymond Green‘s offensive decline could jeopardize his chances of re-signing, and Klay Thompson might find Los Angeles more appealing than he’s led on.

If the Warriors want to keep the good times rolling, the team might need to consider a trade for a franchise-changing player like Anthony Davis.
