The Pelicans want to build a winning culture in New Orleans. In this deal, they continue to do that while ridding themselves of Davis who clearly doesn’t want to be in there anymore.

For Golden State, they bring in Davis and Joe Harris. Harris would help replace Thompson’s production. He’s been having a career-year in Brooklyn, averaging a career-high 13.2 points per game. Those two would create a Curry-Harris-Durant-Davis-Cousins starting lineup.

For Brooklyn, they deal away a star point guard, a solid two guard, a first-round pick, and a bright, up-and-coming player in Kurucs. It’s actually Brooklyn who would secure Thompson and Iguodala yet may be the team not to do this deal.

Kurucs is nearing double-figure scoring and almost shooting 50% from the field. Russell has exploded this season. However, with Thompson and Iggy on the roster, their 2019 first-round pick wouldn’t be a high selection.

For New Orleans, you gain a four-time all-star in Green and two solid, young players. Add on two first-round picks and this seems like a trade that’d trump many that Los Angeles could offer.

Would Brooklyn do this deal though?
