If a winning, forward-thinking culture is what the Pelicans want, Blake Griffin and a deal with the Pistons can take them there.

Luke Kennard had taken his game to the next level this season. The former Duke standout is averaging 8.1 points per game. While not the most efficient scorer, Kennard still has untapped potential.

Along with Blake Griffin who has transcended into one of the premier playmaking power forwards,  the Pelicans would receive Jordan Bell, a player not earning many minutes on Golden State’s current roster, and two first-round picks.

The Warriors do this deal just like any other deal for Davis. They don’t trade Durant and Curry while bringing in another top-five player. They would deal away Thompson and two first round picks, but Thompson, if not given the max, could venture elsewhere anyway.

Likely to get that max, Thompon’s return to Golden State is almost guaranteed, but the rumors have surfaced that he may entice other options. If the Warriors aren’t comfortable giving him a max over Durant, they could opt to bundle him for Davis.

For Detroit, they keep a playmaking forward while also reeling in one of the league’s best all-time shooters. Ridding themselves of Griffin’s contract, Detroit would do this in a heartbeat.
