The Golden State Warriors don’t need Anthony Davis to compete. However, they could use him to continue their dynasty for at least another season. Who knows what will happen this offseason, so snagging a superstar under contract past this season would be ideal.

For New Orleans, they’d be snagging two young players with high ceilings and a potential star in Marvin Bagley III. Bagley was the second overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. Along with two first-round picks, this deal seems like a fair trade all around, allowing for a complete reset in New Orleans.

Resetting their roster and entering a rebuild may not be ideal after being so close to competiting, but as a small market roster, it might be their only play moving forward. This deal gives them everything they could want.

A team likely involved heavily in this year’s trade market, Sacramento should also consider this season. They’ve been actively targeting players like Jeremy Lin in hopes to make a playoff push, especially since De’Aaron Fox has stepped his game up this season.

The Pelicans may want more developed young players like Fox or Kuzma or Tatum. But will one of those players be more valuable than these three plus two first-round picks?

The Warriors can do it. They have the players to trade for Anthony Davis. But, do they really want to?
