New Orleans superstar, Anthony Davis, has reportedly requested a trade. Here is how this potential blockbuster trade could affect the Golden State Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors are in a position to fight for another NBA championship. With a 36-14 record, the Dubs have the best record in the Western Conference. However, if Anthony Davis gets traded to a different team, the road to a championship could become much different.

Davis and his agent, Rich Paul, recently made it public that they would prefer to be traded to a different team. Davis has spent seven seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans and has yet to see any significant improvements to the roster. As a result, it would be best for both parties if Davis is shipped to a franchise that can surround him with enough talent to compete.

Where Davis ends up could have a huge impact on the Warriors season. There are a few teams that could turn deadly if they managed to add Davis. In my opinion, the three worst-case scenarios for the Dubs are if Davis ends up on the Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors or Los Angeles Lakers.

Both Boston and Toronto are capable of throwing valuable assets at the Pelicans. Should AD end up on one of these teams, he would become the focal point of a monstrous lineup. The potential trio’s of Kyrie Irving/Jayson Tatum/Anthony Davis or Kawhi Leonard/Kyle Lowry/Anthony Davis would all be strong enough to push the Warriors to their limit.

Meanwhile, LeBron James has been on a one-man mission to destroy the Warriors for the last five years. If James manages to get Davis on his side, the results could be deadly. Not to mention the fact that having Davis and James on the same team opens up opportunities for more stars to join the Lakers.

These three teams would all be tough opponents if they obtained AD. Hopefully, the Warriors will not have to worry about any of these teams capturing Davis in a trade anytime soon.
