Golden State Warriors: 6 potential players to pursue in buyout market
By Tony Pesta
5. Garrett Temple
Garrett Temple is a 32-year-old shooting guard for the Memphis Grizzlies. He is currently set to make $8 million dollars this season before officially becoming a free agent at the end of the year. However, it might be in the best interest of both parties to agree to a buyout deal now and allow Temple to switch teams.
Temple will not bring any additional offensive firepower to the Golden State Warriors. His averages of 9.4 points and 1.4 assists per game are not eye-popping at all. Furthermore, he is just a 35.6 percent career shooting from the 3-point line and is not overly athletic.
Where Temple’s worth would be proven is his ability to defend the perimeter. At 6’6″ and weighing 195 lbs, Temple is capable of moving swiftly across the perimeter and defending opposing players. He is the perfect size to switch through screens and guard most positions. This is a valuable trait for any player to have and I think the Warriors would love to acquire him.
