1. Wesley Matthews

The number one player on this list is Wesley Matthews. At one time in his career, Matthews was an elite two-way player. Many can credit Matthews as one of the leagues first ever 3-and-D players. He was exceptional at defending the perimeter and knocking down catch-and-shoot opportunities for the Portland Trail Blazers.

Sadly, an Achilles injury derailed his career. He has not had a season in which he averaged 15 or more points since the injury and has struggled to prove his worth as a starter in the NBA. Now, his hefty contract is looked at as a detriment to the rebuilding New York Knicks who might opt to buy him out.

If he hits the market, the Warriors should jump on the chance to sign him. He can still shoot the 3-pointer efficiently and his defense is good in spurts. He would thrive as a defensive-minded role player and would love to shoot open 3-pointers within the flow of Golden States elite offense.
