The Golden State Warriors’ superstar Stephen Curry will be one of ten participants in the NBA All-Star weekend’s three-point contest.

Stephen Curry has been dominant from behind the arc this season. For that reason, the league’s only unanimous MVP has once again been nominated and accepted the nomination to shoot in the NBA’s three-point contest.

He will go against Devin Booker, the reign champion. Joe Harris, Dirk Nowitzki, Steph’s brother Seth Curry, Danny Green, Buddy Hield, Damian Lillard, Kemba Walker, and Khris Middleton round out the ten participants.

For Steph Curry, this will be his sixth appearance in the event. He won the contest in 2015 when it was held in New York.

Curry has had a few noteworthy moments throughout his five appearances. His 27 points out of 34 possible during the 2015 contest was the second-most in a round in contest history. Curry also has the second-most shots made in a row, connecting on 13 straight during that same 2015 contest.

If Curry shoots like he has this season, it could be a dominant performance for one of the league’s all-time great shooters. The 30-year-old has made 5.2 threes per game this season, a career-high for Curry.

That dominance has upped his total to the league’s third-most all-time. He’s now behind just Reggie Miller and Ray Allen, both of which he should surpass within the next few seasons.

In their summary of Stephen Curry’s nomination, NBA.com summarized his accomplishments and what competing in this contest in Charlotte might mean to him.

"An NBA All-Star Game starter for the sixth consecutive year, the two-time Kia NBA Most Valuable Player ranks third on the all-time list for three-pointers made (2,344).  With 215 three-pointers this season, he has become the first player in NBA history to make at least 200 threes in seven straight seasons.  Stephen starred at Charlotte Christian School and Davidson College near Charlotte."

The Golden State Warriors and their fan base should be proud to have Stephen Curry as their superstar. Locked up for the next few seasons, Curry’s only NBA home has cherished what he’s done and will continue to do.

Curry has evolved the NBA, creating a more three-point-aware league. That said, let’s not be shocked if Curry runs away with this competition as he’ll try to showcase his skill set for his hometown.
