Carmelo Anthony

With a roller coaster last few years, Carmelo Anthony was traded to Chicago from Houston after signing a one-year deal. Now a free agent, Anthony will headline the buyout market. The 16-year veteran will be a top option for the LA Lakers if they can find the roster spot.

Melo has scored over ten points per game in each of the last two seasons. His production isn’t why teams cut him, his efficiency is. Melo has been shooting around 40% from the field over the last two seasons.

Tack on below-average defense, and it’s been clear Anthony has been the scapegoat for both the Thunder and Rockets shortcomings. However, that doesn’t mean that his legacy is in shambles. He needs success, he can get that in Golden State.

Anthony and LeBron James are close friends, so it’s likely if the Lakers want him, they’ll get him. If the Dubs wanted him, they might’ve already got him. That said, it’ll be interesting to see how Melo’s last few seasons play out.
