4. Houston Rockets

The only Western Conference team on this list, the Houston Rockets, did not make any gigantic moves. But, they did manage to acquire a player that could have a significant impact on their championship hopes.

One of the biggest mistakes that the Rockets made last Summer was allowing Trevor Ariza and Luc Mbah Moute to leave in free agency. These two players were versatile wing defenders that could shoot at a decent rate.

The absence of both Ariza and Moute was immediately felt. Houston has struggled this season due to a lack of depth and capable defenders.

This is why obtaining Iman Shumpert is such a good move for Houston. Shumpert has always been known for his defense and he is currently making a career-high 1.8 3-pointers a game Shump might be the perfect replacement for Ariza, meaning that the Rockets are potentially back in championship contention.
