Golden State Warriors: Three Dubs primed to thrive in All-Star Game yet again
For the 4th straight year, there are three or more Golden State Warriors in the All-Star game. And for the second year in a row, there was two Dubs drafted to one team (Team LeBron) and one to the other (Team Giannis)
The second All-Star Game Draft happened last Thursday morning and was televised for the first time that night. With the captains being LeBron James from the West and Giannis Antetokounmpo from the East, neither of the Golen State Warriors superstars were able to draft their own squad.
LeBron had the first pick, again and again, he chose the Warriors Kevin Durant.
Then with the second overall pick, Golden State’s Stephen Curry was taken by Giannis.
Steph was taken after he chose the Greek Freak with his first pick last year. Two-thirds of the Warriors in the All-Star Game are off the board with the first two picks.
The last Dub was taken as a reserve when Klay Thompson was taken by James (watch for tampering). This will be the first time that he is on the opposing team of Steph.
James drafted a team with numerous players that are either free agents or have player options this upcoming summer. However, many still consider his team to be the better of the two.
With this, I want to to see the two best three-point shooters in the league to go at each other’s throats. I want a battle like in the 2014 Rising Stars Challenge when Tim Hardaway Jr. and Dion Waiters.
Curry will be the only Dub to compete in any of the All-Star Saturday Night festivities. He will be competing with his brother Seth Curry in the 3-Point Contest. Steph will be looking to win it for the second time and Seth for the first time in their hometown of Charlotte.
Curry vs Curry will be a great show, and on the next night, fans will be treated by a Steph vs Durant, Thompson game as well. Let’s see how Curry balls out in his hometown.
Predictions:
Skills Challenge: Luka Doncić (Yes, I’ve been on the Luka hype. Phoenix should have taken him 1st)
Three-Point Contest: Stephen Curry
Dunk Contest: Miles Bridges
ASG: Team LeBron wins, 169-164
