It has been an up and down season for Klay Thompson, but the Golden State Warriors All-Star is now having his best streak of the year.

Klay Thompson had his fair share of cold slumps this season. It took a while for him to get going from beyond the arc, but as the Golden State Warriors gear up for the NBA Playoffs, Thompson is having his best streak of the season.

The first few months of the season were wildly inconsistent for Thompson. For the first 19 games of the year, Klay was shooting a pitiful 32.4 percent from the 3-point line. This is a very unusual thing for a player as talented as Thompson.

What makes this stretch even weirder is the fact that in the middle of his horrid shooting slump, Thompson had a game in which he scored 52 points and broke the NBA record for most 3-pointers in a single game with 14.

For most of the season, Klay has been completely hit or miss. The Warriors had no idea if Klay was going to shoot 0-4 or 10-10 from the 3-point line on any given night. However, the last few weeks have seen Thompson finally gain some consistency in his shooting this year.

Since January 8, Thompson is scoring an average of 24.7 points per game on 50.8 percent shooting from the 3-point line. He has had two 40+ point games during this stretch and has scored 20+ a total of 10 times.

This is the best that Thompson has looked all season and the Warriors are benefiting greatly from it. The Dubs have gone 15-1 over the course of this hot streak and have won five games by 25 or more points.

With Thompson playing like his usual self, and the successful debut of DeMarcus Cousins, the Warriors have taken their spot as the best team in the league. As the season continues, expect to see Thompson and the Dubs build off of this hot streak into the playoffs.
