With just five months till the 2019 NBA Draft, the Golden State Warriors should strongly scout and consider targeting Ignas Brazdeikis.

The Golden State Warriors haven’t had a lottery pick and will continue to not have one more several years. The 2019 NBA Draft will be no different.

That said, they’ve had to dig a bit deeper into the scouting reports to find successful, experienced players. In the 2019 NBA Draft, their late first-round target should be Ignas Brazdeikis, the freshman forward from the University of Michigan.

At 22-3, Michigan is a top-ten team in the NCAA. Their leading scorer, Ignas Brazdeikis, has come in and brought new energy with him. He’s a gritty, hard-nosed player that does anything needed to come out on top.

This season, he’s averaging 14.6 points per game. Tack on 1.3 threes on 37.9% from deep, and it already seems like a match made in heaven for Golden State. A solid shooter that limits his turnovers is exactly what Golden State bought into in the 2018 NBA Draft.

However, unlike Evans III, Brazdeikis is a much more fluid offensive player. He attacks the rim with a finesse that’s unlike many collegiate freshmen. At 6-foot-7, he’s tall enough to shoot over smaller defenders and quick enough to get by bigger ones.

He may not come in and be a superstar talent, but his winning mentality should allow him to at least contribute.

The last time the Warriors snagged a player with this type of energy and tenacity, they turned him into a four-time All-Star. Ignas and Draymond Green aren’t perfect replicas, but they do bring the same type of win-first attitude.

It’s not something measurable, and the Warriors, who have drafted experience, proven players, might be in the mix for a different type of player after both Jordan Bell and Jacob Evans III have been hard-pressed to find time and meaningful contributions.

NBADraft.net have the Michigan forward going early in the second round, so like with Jordan Bell, the team might be able to buy an early pick if they believe in Brazdeikis.
