Unsurprisingly, the Golden State Warriors weren’t active at the NBA’s February 7th trade deadline.

While many teams made moves to improve their roster, the Golden State Warriors did absolutely nothing. They continued their schedule like there was no incredibly important date, and for them, it might’ve been the right move.

It’s their fifth straight season of being inactive at the deadline. Their last midseason trade was during the 2014 season, and since then, they’ve had no true need to improve their roster in order to compete with the best teams.

This season is no different. What is different about this season is that the Warriors could’ve made a trade to gain depth and become a better team all around. They didn’t though, and it may come back to haunt them if they sustain an injury or suspension in the postseason.

The only area they really needed to improve on was bench scoring. They could’ve used a true backup behind Klay Thompson. Being one of the league’s most unproductive benches, the Dubs second unit could’ve certainly used some help.

Rightfully so, they didn’t make a move to improve the bench. Obviously, they didn’t view their need as a huge issue and potentially something they could look at the buyout market to improve their roster. However, there’s a case to be argued against that.

Many of the elite two-guard options have already been secured. That said, let’s dive into five players that the Warriors might regret not trading for.
