CJ Miles
Last but not least is CJ Miles. Miles wouldn’t have been traded from Toronto to Golden State but definitely could’ve been traded from Memphis, his current home, to Golden State. Miles, an aging veteran, likely won’t be bought out either.
Miles wasn’t having a great year in Toronto, scoring just over five points per game. His shooting was off and he wasn’t scoring efficiently. However, Miles has proven to be a threat from deep and needed a new home to thrive in, now averaging a double-figure per game in Memphis.
The problem with Miles would’ve been his contract. The Dubs needed to find a way to trade away Iguodala contract, and adding a similar player in Miles would’ve given them back that production from Iggy.
Every ounce of cap space will be needed this offseason, and bringing in Miles for Iguodala would’ve saved Golden State about eight million, freeing up cap for them to sign both Thompson and Durant.
However, Miles probably wasn’t even on their radar before or after being traded from Toronto.
