The Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is being fined $25,000 by the NBA for his clipboard-breaking tyrant after Draymond Green’s flagrant foul.

The NBA is bringing down a fine for Steve Kerr after his epic meltdown that ended with his ejection from the Golden State Warriors pre-All-Star break finale. The Dubs, who eventually lost the game by 22, saw Draymond Green called for a flagrant foul late in the fourth quarter.

The flagrant was at best questionable. Many following the game claimed that Green’s foul was mainly because it was ‘Draymond Green’ and not because it was actually worthy of the call, which was the reason for Kerr being so fired up.

Here’s a video of the fine-worthy tyrant.

This is a rare version of Kerr. He usually doesn’t get this fired up over Draymond Green’s flagrant calls. This one was different.

As for his fine, the NBA is bringing down the fine for “verbally abusing and confronting a game official,” per The Mercury News’ Mark Medina. For what it’s worth, the way Kerr came from the sideline does warrant a fine.

However, as we’ve seen from coaches in the past, sometimes the penalty is worthy of bringing the officials attention to an injustice. For Green, it was a bad foul call, and while he was abnormally calm, Kerr wasn’t.

For Kerr, that’s fine. Defend your players. This will come back to help the Warriors when it’s a playoff game with the same official and the play is similar with the call not being as harsh against Green.

It’s what needed to be done, but ultimately, is the fine warranted for a tyrant like such? Per the rules, sure, but the coach should be allowed to show his emotions just like players are without being fined. After all, they did toss the championship-winning coach from the game.

At the end of the day, Kerr did what needed to be done, and the fine will be the least of his problems when his team wins their third straight championship this June.
