Stephen Curry will be appearing in his sixth All-Star game for the Golden State Warriors, but, this one will be more special than the others.

While the Golden State Warriors may be the place where Stephen Curry became an NBA superstar, it was in his hometown of Charollote where he put in all of the hard work that made him who he is today. As Curry gears up to play in his sixth All-Star game in front of his hometown, let’s look back at what he has done and what we could see this weekend.

Curry first made a name for himself by taking the NCAA by storm. Playing for his home college of Davidson, Curry averaged 25.3 points a game for his three-year career and solidified himself as one of the most prolific shooters that college basketball had ever seen.

Of course, we all know he has translated wonderfully to the NBA level and has turned into an all-time great shooter. With the Warriors, Curry has won two MVP awards and three NBA championships.

He has appeared in five other All-Star games, but this one should be his most special one for a few reasons. Most obviously because it is going to take place in front of his hometown, but also because this season has been one of his best to date.

This year, Curry is scoring close to a career-high rate at 28.6 points per game on 44.4 percent shooting from the 3-point line. He is hitting an average of 5.1 3-pointers a game, tying the record he set in his 2015-16 unanimous MVP season.

Heading into the All-Star weekend, Curry is set to compete in the 3-point contest as well as the All-Star game. I expect Curry to do everything he can to put on a show and walk away with either the MVP award or as the 3-point champion. Perhaps, Curry will even end the weekend with both awards.
