Sixth man of the Year: Derrick Rose
Honorable mentions: Domantas Sabonis, Lou Williams, Dennis Schroder, Fred VanVleet
In what has been perhaps the most heartwarming story of the season, the Derrick Rose redemption tour has been something special. Many believed that Rose had seen his last season as a productive NBA player. But, fans that have stuck by his side since day one are rejoicing as Rose is back to playing at an elite level.
Rose put the league on notice when he scored a career-high 50 points earlier in the year. This emotional performance was something that hardcore Rose fans will never forget. However, this game was just the highlight of what has been a very effective season for the former MVP.
D-Rose is scoring the most points per game (18.2) since the 2011-12 season, which was his last All-Star season. He has made the leap to becoming a reliable 3-point shooter, hitting 40 percent of his attempts for the first time in his career.
This resurgence from Rose has been a long time coming and there would be nothing better than to watch him walk away with the Sixth Man of the Year award.
