Continuing to involve DeMarcus Cousins

The Golden State Warriors added a superstar to their rotation halfway through the season. DeMarcus Cousins is an important part of who they are now and who they hope to be moving forward.

Including him has been a smooth transition so far. It helps that prior to taking the court with the team his reputation earned him the respect and his personality easily connected him with the Warriors’ current stars.

As the season continues, how Cousins is involved will continue to be important. Is he more of a second-unit star while still starting the halves or should he be on the court to end the game with the starters?

The Warriors might be thriving, but Cousins has yet to really showcase his potential. He’s averaging a career-low 13.9 points per game on a career-low 10.7 shots per game. While neither of those necessarily need to change, if he’s involved them, they should.

Continuing to get Cousins to peak form will be an important aspect of the second half of the season for Golden State.
