The Kings would be a tough first round for the Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings have had multiple heavily contested games this season and it could all cumulate into a fire first round matchup.
In recent years, the first round of the NBA Playoffs has not been very difficult for the Golden State Warriors. The Dubs have run through just about all of their opponents. However, the Sacramento Kings could prove to be a tough out in a potential matchup.
Sacramento has been one of the most surprising teams of the season this year. Led by the rise of multiple young stars such as De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield, the Kings have a 30-28 record and are fighting for a playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Fox is having a much better season than his rookie campaign and Hield is averaging a career-high 20.5 points per game.
So far, the Dubs and Kings have clashed in multiple showdowns this year, all resulting in games that came down to the wire. In their four meetings, the largest margin of victory was five points and two of these games were decided in the last 30 seconds.
In the most recent matchup, Stephen Curry scored 36 points and 14 in the fourth quarter to lead the comeback win. The King’s barely lost as Hield missed a potential game-tying shot at the buzzer.
This gave the Warriors a perfect 4-0 record against the Kings this season and has helped push the Warriors to the best record in the NBA. With a 42-16 record, the Warriors are the best team in the league and shouldn’t fear any opponent.
Still, the Kings could definitely put up a strong fight in a potential first-round matchup. Sacramento is likely too young to actually secure a win over the Dubs but their fast-paced basketball and “show no fear” mentality should make it an interesting series.
