The Golden State Warriors may have interest in Andrew Bogut, the former Warriors center who just became available after an MVP season in Australia.

After 13 years in the NBA, Andrew Bogut decided to return home for a season. The Melbourne, Australia native may be returning to the NBA after being the MVP and DPOY in the Australian basketball league. He could also be targeted by his former team, the Golden State Warriors.

This report comes from The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Bogut, 34, played four seasons in Golden State, three of which he managed time in 60+ games. He’s spent time in Milwaukee, Los Angeles and Dallas as well. While his prime was spent in Milwaukee, Bogut may’ve had his best years in Golden State.

He was part of the Warriors during the early years of the dynasty. He was a major contributor on the 2014-2015 team that won the championship and the 2015-2016 team that won a historic 73 games.

Bogut’s a unique player. A defensive-minded center, Bogut’s found success by being a consistent and dominant rim protector. That’s exactly what the Warriors need moving forward, and for Bogut, there may not be a better place than the Bay.

He’d likely be outplayed by Boban in Philadelphia if he signed there. That said, let’s dive into three reasons why the Golden State Warriors should sign the former All-NBA team member.
