A feud that lasted for four straight NBA Finals between LeBron James and the Golden State Warriors is officially over.

LeBron James and the Golden State Warriors have grown very familiar with each other over the years. Facing off in four consecutive NBA Finals, James and the Warriors have a unique rivalry. While many could argue that this rivalry has been one-sided for a while now, it is clear that the feud is finished for good.

A number of red flags went up as soon as LeBron James joined the Los Angeles Lakers. The fact that he was joining an unproven cast of young players, alongside with a number of different veteran players that haven’t been productive in years, was already enough to say that James’ chances of winning a title were done with.

Combine this with it being LeBron’s 16th season in the NBA and his first time playing in the Western Conference and it wasn’t hard to assume that James wouldn’t be able to win a championship this season.

However, I don’t think anyone could have imagined the season would go this poorly for James and the Lakers. Right now, LA is 5.5 games back from the eight seed. With less than 20 games remaining, it looks like the Lakers are going to miss the Playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Warriors are the best team in the Western Conference and are ready to compete for their third straight championship. The Warriors are still trending upwards, while James is watching his career take a sharp turn in the opposite direction.

Now, let’s be completely clear and state that James is still having a phenomenal individual season. He is averaging 27 points, 8.7 rebounds and 8 assists per game. Despite this, the team he is playing on is not talented enough to win games and be competitive in a loaded conference.

Next. Warrior will be avoiding Los Angeles Lakers in first round of playoffs. dark

This will be the first time in five years that James and the Warriors have not played each other in the NBA Playoffs. It should be safe to say that this rivalry is officially over.
