Jeff Green

Quietly having a great year in Washington, Jeff Green’s proving he’s not quite done playing basketball at the highest level. At this rate, the veteran small forward might be one of the more talked about non-star free agents.

32, Green has been with five teams over the last four years. It’s time he finds a long-term NBA home to finish out his career that almost never happened. Green’s made himself an ideal target, averaging 12.5 points per game, his most since the 2014-2015 season.

Shooting 47.8% from the field, Green’s taken a step in the limelight ever since the season-ending injury to John Wall. Green’s also seen a significant uptick in three-point shooting, knocking down 36.7% of his attempts, his highest rate since the 2012-2013 season.

Over the last two years, Green has been signed to a one-year deal worth the veteran’s minimum. For his production, that’s an extremely team-friendly contract. That said, Green can get more than that and a high-profile position with the Warriors if he wanted to sign in the Bay.

The Dubs may not have much money to go around, but they certainly may have the need, especially if Kevin Durant leaves this offseason.

The Warriors need to make moves, and given the likely success they’ll have next season, bringing in a couple of these veterans may not be too difficult.
