Golden State Warriors: Kevin Durant surprises young fans with pizza

Kevin Durant of the Golden State Warriors might be one of the most hated NBA players, but that never stops him from giving back to the fans.

Kevin Durant made a lot of people angry when he joined the Golden State Warriors. For many fans, this move created a rift between them and the two-time Finals MVP. To this day, a large portion of the NBA community has refused to forgive Durant for leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Despite this, Durant continues to be a stand out guy off of the court and always does his best to give back to the fans. In his most recent act of kindness, Durant delivered a pizza to a few young fans.

KD supposedly met the kid’s father in an elevator as he was headed home to bring them pizza. To surprise the kids, Durant decided to walk into the room carrying the pizza’s himself.

This is just one of many great things KD has been doing this year. The most notable thing KD has done is pledge 10 million dollars towards the “Durant Center”. This building is an after-school center for underprivileged children.

Based in his hometown of Prince George County in Maryland, the Durant Center has been built to support the youth in the area and help guide them in a good direction. This act of kindness is just one reason as to why players such as Durant are so important.

As many great players have said, this game is bigger than basketball. The impact that these superstars have on the youth is something that can not go understated. Durant has the ability to have a real influence on children and he does a great job of being a solid role model.

This moment is one that will be forgotten quickly but should stand as a testament to the type of person that KD is. Whether you respect his on-the-court decisions or not, you have to appreciate his off-court duties.
