The Golden State Warriors were humbled against the Dallas Mavericks as they took one their biggest losses of the century.

After that rough loss to Dallas, the Golden State Warriors did rebound and take down the Detroit Pistons at home, but that doesn’t take away from what happened on a cool Saturday night in Oracle Arena.

The Warriors lost by 35 points. They allowed Luka Doncic to erupt for 23 points, 10 assists and 11 rebounds. On top of being absolutely blown out, the Warriors showed exactly why they could be vulnerable in the postseason.

4-for-30.

The Warriors went 4-for-30 from the three-point line. Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant combined to go 0-for-12 as Stephen Curry sat on the sideline and watched. That’s the exact reason why Warrior fans should be worried.

Curry has had a record of injury problems, and he’s had them so frequently that he’s missed significant time in both the regular season and postseason throughout almost every season during his nine-year career.

Already missing time in 12 games this season, Curry was back and looked better than ever against the Pistons. However, the impact that’s felt when Curry is not on the court was magnified after such a horrific loss.

Against the Mavs, Cousins was a solid threat, scoring 19 points on 8-for-11 from the field. He was just about the only productive Warrior on the court. That said, at the end of the day, it all comes back to the team playing without Curry.

The Warriors boast a team filled with superstar talents. However, without Curry, the team has just a 5-7 record. They revolve around Curry and what he brings to the court. That’s the main reason why Warrior fans shouldn’t worry about Durant leaving this summer.

The Warriors are Curry-centric, and without him, they’ve been awful. This type of play without their star is a major weakness, especially if he ends up missing any time during the 2019 postseason.

After bouncing back with a strong showing against Detroit, which included a game-high 26 points from Curry, the Warriors have remained atop the West and will likely retain the one seed although dropping a few disappointing games over the last several weeks.
