The Golden State Warriors should erect a Steph Curry statue outside of the brand new Chase Center upon its opening next season.

I know most people’s first thought. Why wouldn’t the Golden State Warriors include a statue of the Big 3 that have created this dynamic dynasty? Well, if we’re honest, none of this would’ve happened without Steph Curry.

For those that don’t know, the Golden State Warriors will be moving into a brand new arena next season. It’s called the Chase Center and will be located in San Francisco, not Oakland like the Warriors’ current home, Oracle Arena.

Per Business Insider, the total cost of the Warriors’ new arena will be $1.4 billion and will be flush with top-notch additions like a plaza and more.

"The $1.4 billion self-financed arena features an outdoor plaza, shopping and restaurants, a public park, and luxurious suites for the Silicon Valley elite."

What more could you ask for? For those that have been with the Warriors since the beginning, a statue of Steph Curry could be a welcome addition.

Since the Baby-Faced Assassin was drafted back in 2009, he’s only ever called Golden State home.   In those ten years, he’d accrued numerous All-Star appearances, All-NBA nominations and many more accolades to go along with those.

What the media might claim as Curry’s crowning achievement was his unanimous MVP season in 2016. However, what Curry may claim as his top accomplishment is the fact that he’s brought home three championships to the Bay Area and possibly a fourth this June.

Curry and the Warriors at large have been about winning at all costs over the last half a decade. They’ve buried themselves deep in the luxury tax just to continue their winning ways, and so far, it’s worked.

This team has been on a new level for the past three seasons, and they’ve done so behind the leadership of Stephen Curry. Yes, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are important players on this championship-caliber team.

However, none of this would’ve been possible without Stephen Curry. For that reason, the new Chase Center, that was likely only made possible by the winning atmosphere and historically large fanbase backing Golden State, should erect a statue of the two-time MVP.

Why wait till Curry’s retired to show the appreciation for him?
