Josh Perkins

A player that’s not even most draft boards, Josh Perkins, had an excellent Elite Eight game although his Gonzaga Bulldogs, one of the four No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament, lost to the Texas Tech Red Raiders, a team led by future lottery pick Jarrett Culver.

Perkins is a fifth-year senior and will likely be headed to the summer league if he’s not picked up in the NBA Draft. After an extensive collegiate career capped off by a trip to the Elite Eight, Perkins deserves to have some attention given to him over the next few months.

In their Elite Eight performance, Perkins shot 6-for-12, making four triples. He also tallied a team-high six assists. Ending with 16 points, Perkins, at 6-foot-3, could become an efficient, smart backup at the next level.

Averaging over 2.2 threes per game last year and 1.4 per game this year, Perkins has proven that he can shoot from deep. Whether or not he can translate that type of production to the NBA level may never be known if a team does
