10. 1991 Western Conference First Round: “Run-TMC” torches the San Antonio Spurs
The Golden State Warriors have had many great teams suit up throughout their history. While the modern-day roster of Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson might seem like an explosive offensive trio, they aren’t the first big three to play in Oakland.

In fact, the dynamic of Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin could be viewed as the prototype version of what we are currently seeing with the Warriors. Otherwise known as “Run-TMC”, these three stars were known for putting on a show and running a fast-paced offense.
In the 1990-91 season, this trio was in full effect. Each member of the big three averaged 20+ points as the Warriors ranked second in the league for points and 3-pointers made. The Dubs won 44 games and reached the playoffs once again.
Per usual, the Warriors found themselves outmatched in a series in which they were the seven seed playing against the two seed. Still, the Warriors refused to back down.
Run-TMC combined for an average of 70.9 points per game, over half of the team’s total points. Mullin led the way with 25.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.3 blocks per game as the Dubs won the series 3-1 over the Spurs.
This was their first (and only) series win as a trio, making it a truly special one. This big three might have underachieved, but they certainly paved the way for a brand of basketball that would soon take over the league.
