A recent report states that the Golden State Warriors superstar, Kevin Durant, may have already made his decision to join New York this summer.

The rumors and speculation surrounding Kevin Durant’s free agency have been swirling all season long. No one truly knows where the two-time Finals MVP will go. But, a new report from Rich Bucher states that Durant has already set his mind on leaving the Golden State Warriors to join the New York Knicks.

Bucher was on Colin Cowherd’s talk show yesterday when he made this claim. He believes that according to everything his sources have been telling him, Durant is ready to join New York as soon as they offer him a meeting.

One of the main arguments behind the theories that Durant is going to New York is the fact that KD wants to clean his reputation. Durant is currently one of the most hated players in the league, but winning with a team like the Knicks could turn him into a hero.

However, this is a flawed theory. Durant is already loved by the Warriors fans. Anyone who actually has watched the team in the last two seasons can see that Durant has done more than enough to prove himself as the closer for the Dubs. Without Durant, they might not have won their last two championships.

Furthermore, who is to say that Durant cares about his reputation? Durant has no reason to care what any outside source says about him when he is still winning championships and playing phenomenal basketball.

To top this all off, Bucher isn’t a very reliable source when it comes to these things. According to Bucher, LeBron James and Chris Bosh were both “done deals” to join the New York Knicks in 2010. He also stated that Anthony Davis was a “done deal” to be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. Obviously, none of these things have happened (yet).

In conclusion, this report likely doesn’t mean much. All it does is add to the frenzy surrounding Durant and his looming free agency decision.
