The Golden State Warriors are set to take on the Los Angeles Clippers in round one of the NBA Playoffs and Lou Williams is their biggest threat.

It’s time for the NBA Playoffs. The top-seeded Golden State Warriors are prepared for round one showdown with the Los Angeles Clippers. While the Dubs are the clear favorites, Lou Williams will likely give the Dubs a few problems.

It’s no secret that the Warriors bench isn’t as effective as it used to be. As Golden State trades depth for more star power, the team becomes more and more top heavy. This isn’t to say that the Dubs second unit is a joke, but it is far from the impactful bench it used to be.

This season, the Warriors bench ranked 28th in the league in points per game. Meanwhile, the Clippers landed in first place with 53.0 points per game from their second unit.

The main reason behind the Clips bench success is Lou Williams. Williams has won the Sixth Man of the Year Award twice in his career and his likely to win his third at the end of this season. Averaging 20.0 points and 5.4 assists per game, Lou is known for terrorizing second units.

So, if the Dubs biggest weakness heading into this series is their bench, then it should be a concern that the Clippers strongest lineup is their second unit.

This first round will force the Dubs to rely heavily on their starting lineup. Which, luckily, is the most talented starting lineup the NBA has ever seen. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and DeMarcus Cousins will all need to be on their A-Game if they want to slide past the Clippers with ease.

Lou and the LA bench is going to give the Dubs some problems. In the end, the Warriors star power will prove to be too much. This series will more than likely be over in four to five games.
