The Golden State Warriors have the ultimate cheat code in Kevin Durant, and he will be the team’s biggest threat in their first-round matchup.

Kevin Durant, throughout his time with the Golden State Warriors, has matured into one of the league’s best scoring and passing big men. He’s completely solidified his already top-of-the-league scoring game.

On the brightest stage and at the biggest level, he’s proven that he can be a championship team’s best player. Even on the typical regular season platform, Durant has reached new levels with his game, averaging a career high in assists this season.

However, that doesn’t always make him the Warriors’ biggest threat in any one playoff series. Against the Clippers, due to their gritty defense in both the frontcourt and backcourt, Durant will be the team’s main go-to option.

While Stephen Curry is the team’s leader and averaged more points per game than Durant during the regular season, he’ll be matched up with one of the league’s best defenders in Patrick Beverley.

As for DeMarcus Cousins, he’ll draw Montrezl Harrell, and Klay Thompson will likely be guarded by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Nonetheless, these matchups won’t be hard to exploit overall, but Durant will certainly draw the most exploitable defender in Danilo Gallinari or Wilson Chandler.

Already being one of the best scorers in the league, Durant will be the Dubs biggest threat against the LA Clippers. There isn’t much anyone can do to stop the four-time scoring champ and former MVP either.

Durant has absolutely lit up the Clippers this season.

The Dubs have taken on the Clippers four time, and in the two games that weren’t Golden State blowouts, Durant dropped 30+ points. In one of the games, he dropped a triple-double and the other was a 35-point, 12-rebound performance.

Both of the games that Durant lit up the Clippers were when Tobias Harris was still on the team and Wilson Chandler wasn’t. However, after Harris left the Clippers, the Warriors easily destroyed the Clippers, winning their 77th game of the season by 27 points.

dark. Next. The Warriors should retain Bob Myers at all costs

Following the All-Star break, the Clippers weren’t even a top-15 defensive team. They need to be better, and since they’re not, the Warriors, namely Kevin Durant, will tear them up in the first round.
