Stephen Curry

Let’s begin this section by saying Stephen Curry has not been bad. He’s just not been the Stephen Curry that fans have become so accustomed to seeing in the postseason. Curry is averaging 24.8 points per game, his lowest total since that 2014 first-round exit.

More from Blue Man Hoop

Curry started out the series red hot, scoring over 33 points per game through the first two games. The next three are where Curry’s production takes a downhill turn. He’s averaged under 20 points per game in games 3-5 and hasn’t taken over ten threes in any of those three games.

In the first two games, Curry did take ten-plus threes. Curry’s dominance from behind the arc is a huge part of the reason for his success in the NBA. Aside from going 1-for-9 from deep in Game 4, Curry’s shot 21-for-34 from deep this series, an elite rate.

Guarding Curry is a tall task, but the Clippers haven’t done much to slow Curry down. He just hasn’t been as aggressive, and that’s what must change moving forward.

Curry needs to be more aggressive in Game 6. The high-level scoring has come from Kevin Durant in the later parts of this series. Curry needs to step up with a huge 30-plus-point performance in Game 6.
