Golden State Warriors: The 3 biggest moments through the first 2 games
James Harden’s late-game no-call three-pointer
The play that set the NBA Twitter world on flames will be highly debated among officially this offseason. Was it foul? Did Harden encroach on Green’s ability to contest his shot? You be the official.
Even if you believe it was a foul, at the end of the day, the referees didn’t call it which is all that matters. That no-call led to more game-ending free throws for Kevin Durant. This game should’ve been over before it even reached that point.
That said, the Warriors got away with a win, and that’s all that matters.
Per the Washington Post’s Ben Golliver, Green said, “It was kind of disheartening for a game that I love since I was a child that all the talk the last few days was nothing about basketball and all about foul calls.”
This was the storyline brought to fans by most of the media and players. The game, which was far more than what many deemed poor officiating, was overshadowed by the calls that either weren’t called or were called.
Although that play was a huge momentum shifter, it wasn’t the biggest sole moment of this series.
