Stephen Curry’s Game 1 dagger

James Harden could’ve neutralized Stephen Curry’s Game 1 dagger. But, instead, he missed his chance to tie the game, and Curry’s three with 25 seconds left will go down as the largest single shot in this series.

While that’s a beautiful photo of Curry’s shot, let’s take a look at what it looked like in real time.

Up five with under 30 seconds left, the Warriors late-game failures made this game even reachable for Houston. These late-game failures were partial on Curry who fumbled a ball out of bounds with just a few dozen seconds left.

Curry ended the game with just 18 points, his second-lowest total of the postseason. His 3-for-10 from deep was also underwhelming yet was outdone by his 3-for-13 from deep in Game 2. The Warriors are up 2-0 in this series and Curry hasn’t even hit the bulk of his shots.

If Curry gets going, Houston can wish any chance they had goodbye. Or, if Curry just continues to hit huge shots like the Game 1 dagger, they should also be fine. That said, expect Curry to get back on track soon.

All I know is that I’m ready for more of these huge moments in the next few games. Game 3 is set for Saturday at 8:30 p.m. EST.
