In Houston, the Golden State Warriors can’t fold Game 6. They must look to end the series before allowing a pivotal Game 7.

The Golden State Warriors must give it there all in Game 6.

At times, when teams lose their best player for a short amount of time, they fold in the game immediately after. They look forward to the return of their player and playing at full strength once again. However, the Warriors won’t get that luxury.

The Warriors need to take to the Rockets in Game 6. Although it’ll be a rowdy atmosphere, the Warriors are the league’s best road team with arguably the two greatest shooters to ever grace the hardwood.

Those shooters have yet to get going.

They’ll need both on fire to down the Rockets.

Klay Thompson is set for his typical series-changing game. During their first-round matchup with the Clippers, Thompson lit up Game 5, dropping 32 points. He dropped six threes on just nine attempts.

Last year, the Rockets got a full dose of the Klay effect in Game 6 of a series that ultimately went a full seven games. Klay dropped 35 points with nine threes in Game 6 of the 2018 Western Conference Finals. Klay dropped just 31 points throughout the second to fourth games.

He’s put up similar numbers in this series.

Just Klay won’t be enough though. They need a big-time game from Steph Curry as well. Curry struggled through the first four games yet started to heat up in Game 5, where he dropped 12 points in the fourth quarter en route to a five-point victory.

Curry’s yet to drop over 30 points in a game. They need him to erupt 30+, something he did 25 times this season. What’s even more astonishing is the fact that Curry shot around 43% from deep during the regular season and has made just 26.3% from three.

You don’t typically see 15-for-57 from deep over the course of five games from Curry.

Most of his struggles haven’t been justified either. He’s just not making the shots. They’ve been open. In fact, exactly 57.6% of his shots have been either “open” or “wide open.” He’s shooting under 40% on such shots.

The Warriors need Curry and Thompson to put on out-of-this-world performance in order to take down the Rockets at the Toyota Center.
