Stephen Curry might receive all of the credit, but this Game 6 victory was due to an all-around team effort from the Golden State Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors are headed back to the Western Conference Finals for the fifth consecutive season. The Dubs were led by an incredible performance from Stephen Curry, but he couldn’t have won this game without the help of his teammates.

The first half of this game was not ideal for Curry. An ugly start from the field led to him scoring zero points in the first 24 minutes. Luckily, Klay Thompson carried the load by hitting 5 3-pointers and scoring 21 points in the first half.

Meanwhile, Kevon Looney came off of the bench booming. He had an instant impact for the Warriors, grabbing rebounds and diving to the rim on-screen actions. This was made even better by the fact that Andre Iguodala was knocking down shots from deep, opening up the floor for Looney to attack.

Because of this, the game was tied heading into half time despite Curry scoring zero points. Luckily, this dry spell wouldn’t last long for Curry as he was prepping for an explosion in the second half.

Steph slowly began catching rhythm in the third quarter, scoring 10 points. It wasn’t until the final quarter began when we saw Curry truly erupt in his peak form. In the final 12 minutes, Curry scored 23 points (33 total) and nailed a huge 3-pointer over P.J. Tucker to give the Dubs a comfortable lead in the closing minutes.

While Curry certainly sealed the deal, it would be a shame not to mention the 3-pointer than Thompson hit only a few plays later to put the nail in the coffin. Looney finished with 14 points while Iguodala drilled 5-of-8 attempts from deep for 17 points. Klay chipped in with 27 points of his own.

Next. The Warriors have sent Houston to basketball purgatory. dark

So even though Curry will be the one remembered as the hero, let’s not overlook the huge contributions from the Warriors role players in this crucial Game 6.
