Behind strong performances from rotational players like Quinn Cook and DeMarcus Cousins, the Golden State Warriors stole Game 2 of the NBA Finals.

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Toronto Raptors in Game 2 of the 2019 NBA Finals behind strong and unlikely performances from Quinn Cook and DeMarcus Cousins. They helped chip in to contribute big-time minutes as Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson ultimately led the way.

With the longest run to start a half in over 40 years, the Warriors kicked off the second half with an 18-0 run after entering the break down five. One of the league’s best third-quarter teams did not disappoint, ending the quarter a +13.

With a 10-0 run late in the fourth, the Raptors cut the lead down to two with 20 seconds remaining. Then, Andre Iguodala ended the game with a huge three with just six seconds left in regulation.

The Warriors earned this game; they needed this game.

Their championship pedigree was on full display after being down double-digits early on. Now, they’ll have home-court advantage and be welcomed by a rowdy Oracle Arena on Wednesday night.

Players like Stephen Curry, who saw a box-and-one in the second half, and Klay Thompson, who scored 18 in the first half, got them there and then were awarded with huge performances from Cook and Cousins.

That said, let’s breakdown the few plays and moments where Cook and Cousins really stole the show.
