2019 NBA Free Agency: 6 options for the Golden State Warriors if Kevin Durant leaves
Wilson Chandler
One of the top defenders on the list, Wilson Chandler hasn’t found a true NBA home in a few seasons. Denver didn’t necessarily want him, trading him to Philadelphia. Philly sent him to LAC, and now he’ll likely be headed elsewhere.
For the right price, that place is Golden State. Now 32, Chandler has just a handful of years left. Yet to get through the first round, Chandler needs to find success at any cost, and Golden State can give him that.
Chandler’s game is similar to Morris’. After averaging over 15 points per game in 2016-2017, Chandler has had two straight disappointing seasons. However, after averaging over $12 million per season for the past four seasons, it’s time Chandler actually makes what his play is worth.
If he’s under $6 million, Golden State should make a serious run after him. He can switch onto smaller or larger players and is a more dependable and confident three-point threat than Alfonzo McKinnie.
Will the price be right though? There could be several teams read to just barely outspend Golden State for the 10-year veteran.
