Reward – You get to right your wrong

Bob Myers was breaking down in front of the media when he had to talk about Durant and his injury. He said that it wasn’t his calf. It wasn’t going to be an easy path to recovery, and you could hear the remorse in his voice.

Keeping Durant around with the world-class staff in the Bay Area would allow the team to right their wrong. There may not have been pressure for Durant to play in Game 5, but they cleared him to compete anyway.

Myers knew that. He took it and said that he was the one to blame. Can you really disagree?

Myers helped make that call that put Durant on the court and ensuing shot his career in the foot. Likely leaving regardless of his injury, the Dubs could certainly bounce back and show their class by keeping him around long term.

The Warriors have earned the respect of the entire league with their dynamic play. That said, they’ve yet to really display their loyalty to their stars outside of Stephen Curry.
