10 Teams: 0% Chance

Before we can start breaking down what teams Kevin Durant might sign with, we have to get this out of the way first. Here are the 10 teams with absolutely no shot at landing Durant.

Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies are in the process of a major rebuild. Signing here would be a dead end for KD.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Without LeBron James or Kyrie Irving in town, I find it very unlikely Durant will be jumping ship to join Kevin Love any time soon.

Charlotte Hornets

Kemba Walker is an All-Star caliber player, but with no supporting cast around him, there is no shot of Durant finding a home in Charlotte.

Detroit Pistons

Unless the Detroit Pistons pull off some major moves, there is no reason to believe Durant would want to take the next chapter of his career to Detroit.

Sacramento Kings

While the Sacramento Kings have done a great job building a solid young core in De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield, they still don’t have enough to compete at a high level yet. With Durant only getting older, he doesn’t have time to wait for them to continue to develop.

Phoenix Suns

Yeah, not going to happen.

Orlando Magic

The Orlando Magic have the benefit of playing in a luxurious location, but they haven’t signed a star caliber player in nearly two decades. Durant will not be joining the Magic this summer.

San Antonio Spurs

Kevin Durant would love playing with such a storied franchise, but with the team heading into a rebuild, Durant has missed his window to compete for championships with the San Antonio Spurs.

Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls finished with 22 wins last season but still managed to have fallen out of the top five in the NBA Draft Lottery. Chicago is going to suck at basketball for quite some time and even Durant can’t change that.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Karl-Anthony Towns is a fun prospect to pair Durant with, but the rest of this team simply lacks the talent to compete in the West. KD will not even consider joining the Minnesota Timberwolves.
